Wicked

Boy: A broadway musical in Singapore. Not many times do you come by such World Class performance
in Singapore. No wonder why it created such a big hype when it 'landed' in Singapore. Shown at the theaters of prestige (as known to some), Marina Bay Sands was the undisputed venue to have showcase some of the renowned shows such as Lion King the Musical.

Not much was known about this musical before hand, although I know it has something related (or not) to Wizard of Oz, although yet again, I know nuts about Wizard of Oz except for the greyish silver Tinman.

No doubt on the price did I expect it to be entertaining, fulfilling and/or even worth the money. Therefore, I attended it with expectations and excitement.

Perhaps like many said, the higher your expectations, the greater the disappointment, if any. For me, it dealt me a heavy blow. I don't know if it's the show or if it's just me, not knowing how to appreciate musical. Definitely, through my mind was the fact that I realized I just spent S$128 to torture myself. Apart from the amazing and impressive vocals that cast have, as well as the incorporating of funny and humor elements in the show, everything else was quite a bore, at least to me.

However, having said the above mentioned, I strongly believe my view was biased. Because the raving good reviews ever since it was first screened in Singapore as well as the thunderous applause each time a segment ends, I believe I'm the problem. But I must say the whole musical was impressive in terms of the storyline (although most parts, I don't quite it), and of course not forgetting the amazing cast with strong talents and the awesome range of costumes on them. No doubt why this musical garnered such good reviews.

Boy's Review: 1/5
